After two years in Bali / Indonesia we’re back home, ready to continue!

We started developing this project in 2014, having envisioned a unified global platform serving apparel of the highest quality and craftsmanship. In 2015 we started beta-testing products and gathering market feedback. Experiencing great interest we moved forward to find a partner and soon, in October 2015, a joint venture was established in Bali / Indonesia. Initial success was unfortunately short-lived, as our partners, the local brand curators, were continually failing in their business obligations and mandated standards.. after over a year-long run we had to conclude that our differences were irreconcilable, so we terminated our joint venture in December 2016.

In our time off we explored various possibilities and held meetings with a few potential partners for the Asian market, however, we finally decided to relocate back to Europe to rethink our long-term strategy and game-plan.

A new chapter in our quest for perfection will soon begin!

Project, that became known as The House of 7, was born in Slovenia/Europe in 2014. We envisioned a unified global platform serving apparel of the highest quality and craftsmanship. In 2015 we started beta-testing products and gathering market feedback. Experiencing great market interest we moved forward to find a partner and soon, in October 2015, a joint venture was established in Bali / Indonesia.

Initial success was unfortunately spoiled by the local brand curators, who continually failed to meet their obligations and mandated standards, so after a year-long run the joint venture had to be terminated. The platform was taken offline and project was re-incubated by its creators, to undergo further refinement and seek out a new partner.

Ho7, as it existed so far, will not exist again, but the know-how, aesthetics, and commitment to quality will continue.. We expect to reintroduce it under a new brand name in the European markets in 2018. Thank you for your interest.

“On any new startup, your competitors laugh at you, then they challenge you and one day they watch you succeed – NEVER GIVE UP!”

“Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not.”

Pablo Picasso

You say the word Bali and it connotes images of a tropical paradise, no matter how you slice it. Verdant, green hills, with terraced rice paddies, rustic villages with chickens crossing the road, gorgeous, white sand beaches lined with palm trees..

However – although Bali is marketed as a tranquil getaway made of small villages, reality is quite different – 4 million people and a massive urban sprawl. It’s busy, busy, busy! Europe, with a summer season of about 4 months, was not a promising environment for our business – here, the season never stops! Constant influx of tourists, more than willing to spend, is another benefit.

There are many down-sides to this environment as well, however we don’t focus on the bad. We’re here to develop our business further, so we’ll spend most of our time in work. In our free time it’s generally an easy place to live, with a wide variety of western conveniences. And it can truly be beautiful and inspiring. 🙂

Only An Idiot Would Start a T-shirt Line.

These days it seems like everyone and their mother has the perfect idea for a t-shirt. If you browse an on-demand t-shirt site, you’ll see that some people actually do. And a lot more don’t.. In fact, most people who find out we have our own t-shirt line eventually tell us, “Hey, you know what you should do for a t-shirt? You should…” and sometimes they even come up with some good ideas. Plus, it sounds easy. “Hey, just put that on a shirt and sell a million!”. We hoped it was that easy, but as the saying goes:

“In theory, theory and practice are both the same, but in practice they are not.”

The first thing that will hit you, as soon as you actually try to sell some of your masterpieces, is a big wall of this is way too expensive!“Some friends & enthusiasts will nonetheless support you, so you proceed regardless. Soon you try to lower your material costs and still maintain the same quality.. well, the only simple way to accomplish that is by buying a huge stock. But you can’t really afford that because you have no real turn-over yet.. hm. The other way is by offering a superior product thereby justifying its higher retail price.

Ok, back to the drawing board. How can we be better? How can we innovate? “You can’t!” many will shout at you. Don’t get discouraged as we got in the beginning.. just try new things out. You’ll learn a lot..

“The way to succeed is to double your failure rate.”

You’ll come up with something new & innovative that works evenutally. We did 😉
